About the Program

The Kansas City VA pharmacy processes over 60,000 prescriptions per month.  Many of these prescriptions are filled by the Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy  (CMOP). Prescriptions may be refilled by phone or the Internet.

Vision:

The Kansas City VA Pharmacy Department will provide pharmaceutical care at the highest level of quality.  Medications and medication expertise will be delivered with efficiency, professionalism and outstanding customer service.  The medication therapies will be optimally managed, and we will empower our nation’s veterans by encouraging them to participate in their health care treatment options. We will be an essential component of the patient focused Health Care Team.  We will become the employer of choice for pharmacists, pharmacy trainees, pharmacy technicians and other supportive personnel by fostering a compassionate and progressive work environment.

Mission:

Leverage scientific evidence, technology, personnel, and funds to safely and effectively provide a high level of pharmaceutical care for our veterans
