Kansas City VA Employee Satisfaction Soars
Results from the VA’s 2020 All Employee Survey are in and Kansas City Veterans Affairs Medical Center’s (KCVA) employee scores improved dramatically this year compared to previous years.
Kansas City VA Medical Center (KCVA) showed tremendous improvements over 2019 for AES, according to David Isaacks, KCVA Medical Center Director.
“Not only did our response rate go up by 4% to 73%, but our Best-Place-to-Work (BPTW) Score increased by 6% in a single year, which is unheard of,” said Isaacks. “I am unbelievably grateful to work with all the dedicated KCVA staff. Despite the challenges on many fronts, all employees at every level of the KCVA organization continue to ensure Veterans get the care they need, demonstrate ICARE values, and support the High Reliability Organization (HRO) transformation.”
KCVA employee satisfaction ratings improved the Medical Center’s overall BPTW standing to 21st among 141 VA medical centers nationwide. The jump from a 2019 ranking of 53rd on that list was the 8th largest jump for VA facilities.
“The results of this survey tell me that KCVA has talented staff that are dedicated to our mission and have a healthy work environment,” said Isaacks. “This is supported by the feedback KCVA staff provided through the survey. The survey also provides KCVA with data from our peer facilities, from which we can draw the conclusion that KCVA is a great place to work.”
His message for all KCVA staff, “Even though we are doing so well, we know that there always is room for development. That’s our culture here at KCVA — continuous improvement. Thanks again for your tireless dedication and everything you do!”
