The KCVAMC has a large, well-funded research and development program including studies in —

- clinical and cooperative studies
The VA Medical Center was the first VA research program to receive full accreditation status from the National Commission for Quality Assurance (NCQA) for its Human Subjects Protection Program in its initial review, and is among fewer than 20 research organizations in the nation to have its human research accredited.
Our current research studies enhance the medical center's ability to provide state-of-the-art medical techniques and treatments to veterans.
Currently there are 37 active investigations and over 150 active research projects currently being conducted at VAMC in areas such as —
